Nine Take Their Place in the Women’s Hall of Fame Saturday

Nine women from many different walks of life were enshrined in the National Women’s Hall of Fame on Saturday. One of the inductees, former First Lady Michelle Obama, said the recognition was not about the speeches she has given or the initiatives she has started.

Mrs. Obama appeared virtually to accept her induction.   Soccer legend Mia Hamm, who also appeared virtually, said women’s soccer has come a long way in terms of equality.

Former First Lady and fellow Hall of Fame inductee Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, as did Governor Kathy Hochul, where the in-person inductions took place on Saturday to help commemorate the day.
